Delete your account

Delete your GarageActive account for good. Any team member can do it straight away. If you own a garage, close it first.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and choose the Delete account tab.
  2. Read what happens, then choose Delete account.
  3. Under Email address, type the address you sign in with exactly as it's shown.
  4. Enter your Current password.
  5. Choose Delete account to confirm, or Keep my account to go back.

You are signed out straight away, and you get an email confirming that the account has been deleted.

If you own a garage

An account that owns an open garage can't be deleted, because only its owner can close it. Close the garage first. See Close your garage. Once it's closed, the page that says the garage has closed offers Delete account too, so you don't need to get back into Settings.

Deleting your account while the garage can still be reopened means nobody can reopen it. If you might change your mind, wait until the 30 days have passed.

What is removed

  • Your email address, password and two-factor authentication.
  • Your profile photo.
  • Your place on the team of every garage you belong to. A manager can't bring you back.
  • Your notifications.

What stays

  • Your name on the jobs, notes and photos you worked on. They are part of each garage's own records.

Good to know

  • Deleting can't be undone. To use GarageActive again, sign up for a new account. You can use the same email address.
  • When a garage closes and its 30 days pass, the accounts of team members who belong to no other garage that is open or can still be reopened are deleted at the same time. Each person gets an email saying so.
  • If you have two-factor authentication on, enter the code first. Your account can't be deleted while a code is due.
