Customer emails
Managers onlyMOT reminder emails
GarageActive can email your customers before their MOT runs out, so they book back in with you. There's no list to keep and no dates to remember.
Switch them on
- Open Settings and choose the Reminders tab.
- Tick Send MOT reminders.
- Choose Save changes.
Who gets one
A customer gets a reminder about a vehicle only when all of these are true:
- Reminders are switched on, and your garage is on Premium.
- Their MOT reminder choice is Agreed.
- You completed a job on that vehicle in the last two years.
- They were the customer on the most recent completed job for it.
- There's an MOT expiry date for the vehicle from official DVSA records. A vehicle showing No MOT data doesn't get one.
- The vehicle still has its number plate. A vehicle marked Transferred doesn't get one.
Good to know
- Reminders go out 27 to 30 days before the MOT runs out. If you switch reminders on, or a customer agrees, after that point, their first reminder comes before their next MOT.
- MOT reminders are part of Premium.
- MOT dates come from official DVSA records and are kept up to date for you.
- Each customer gets one reminder for each MOT expiry.
- The email includes your garage's phone number, if you've added one, and an unsubscribe link.
- Sent reminders show in the Activity tab of the customer and of the vehicle.
