Two jobs in the same bay

GarageActive lets you book up to three jobs into the same bay at the same time, because real workshops work this way.

Why it's allowed

Say a car is booked into Bay 1 for four hours of fault finding. You know it will come off the ramp for half an hour in the middle while you wait for a part. Another car can go on in that gap for a quick job. Both jobs belong in Bay 1, and their times overlap.

How it looks

Jobs that overlap in a bay are shown side by side in that bay's column, each one narrower so they all fit. A job that starts exactly when another finishes doesn't count as overlapping, and both stay full width.

The limit

A bay can hold up to three jobs at the same time. If you try to add or move a fourth, it isn't saved, and a message says the bay already has 3 jobs booked at that time.

Good to know

  • The Unassigned column has no limit. Use it for jobs that don't need a bay.
  • A cancelled job still counts towards the three. To free the space, choose Show cancelled jobs at the top of the schedule, open the cancelled job and set its Bay to No bay.
  • Sharing a bay never shows a warning. Booking the same person onto two jobs at once does.
