Add or change invoice lines

Each line on an invoice is a service, a part or some labour. You can add, change and remove lines while the invoice is a draft.

Add a line

1. Open the draft invoice.
2. Choose Add line, then Service, Part or Labour.
3. For a service or a part, pick it from the list. For a one-off charge, choose Enter a custom service.
4. Fill in Qty, Description and Unit cost (£).

Change or remove a line

• Type over the quantity, description or cost of any line.
• Choose the bin icon at the end of a line to remove it.

Save

Choose Save draft. If something is wrong, the line is highlighted and the message Fix the highlighted lines before saving appears.

Good to know

• If the part isn't on your list yet, choose Add new part at the bottom of the part list. It's added to your parts and to the line.
• A custom service is only for this invoice. It isn't added to your services.
• An invoice needs at least one line and can have up to 100.
• The Net, VAT and Total on each line are worked out for you. VAT only shows if you've added your VAT number.
• Changing a line here doesn't change the job, or the price of the service or part in your lists.
• Changing the job after you start the draft doesn't change its lines. The customer's details and the reg update each time you save.
