Customer messages
EveryoneWhen a customer unsubscribes
Every MOT reminder, email or text, has an unsubscribe link. A customer who uses it stops getting reminders on that channel, and you don't have to do anything.
What the customer does
- They choose the unsubscribe link in the email, or the opt out link in the text.
- A page asks Stop MOT reminders?
- They choose Unsubscribe me.
Some email apps also show their own unsubscribe button next to the sender. That works straight away, with no page.
What changes for you
The choice for the channel they came from changes to Declined: MOT reminder emails for an email link, MOT reminder SMS for a text link. The other channel isn't changed. You can see both on their page, and the change shows in their Activity tab.
Switch reminders back on
Only do this when the customer asks you to, for example when they're next in.
- Open the customer and change MOT reminder emails or MOT reminder SMS to Agreed.
- Choose Save changes.
Good to know
- Only managers can change a customer's reminder choice.
- Unsubscribing only stops MOT reminders. You can still email them booking confirmations and invoices, because those are about work they asked for.
- If a customer asks you to stop their reminders, change their MOT reminder emails and MOT reminder SMS choices to Declined.
