Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication asks for a code from an authenticator app as well as your password, so someone who learns your password still can't open your garage.

Turn it on

  1. Open Settings and choose the Security tab.
  2. Choose Turn on.
  3. Open an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy and scan the code. If you can't scan it, enter the key shown under the code by hand.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and choose Confirm.

Turn it off

  1. Open Settings and choose the Security tab.
  2. Choose Turn off.
  3. Enter your Current password and choose Turn off again.

Good to know

  • Once it's on, you're asked for a code when you open your garage on a new device or after logging out. You're not asked on the list of your garages, and you're not asked again on a device where you've already entered one.
  • It applies to your account, so every garage you belong to asks for a code.
  • Moving to a new phone? Turn it off, then turn it on again with the new phone.
  • If you reset a forgotten password, you're asked for a code before you can set a new one.
  • Lost your authenticator app? Contact support and we'll help you back in.
