Look up a vehicle by its reg

Type a number plate and GarageActive fills in the make, model, colour and MOT details for you, so you can check the car in front of you is the one that was booked.

Steps

1. Start adding or editing a job.
2. Type the plate into Vehicle reg. On the job page, it's in the Vehicle card. Spaces don't matter.
3. A standard 7-character plate searches as soon as you've typed it. For any other plate, move out of the box or choose the magnifying glass.
4. Check the details that appear underneath.

Good to know

• If you see No vehicle found for that registration., check for typing mistakes. It can also mean official DVSA records couldn't be reached, so try the magnifying glass again shortly. You can still save the job with that plate.
• Choosing the magnifying glass asks official DVSA records for the latest details.
• Vehicle details come from official DVSA records. They can't be typed in by hand.
