Every page in GarageActive is laid out the same way: a menu down the side, a bar across the top, and the page itself in the middle.
The side menu
The menu lists every area: Dashboard, Schedule, Team, Services, Parts, Customers, Vehicles and Jobs, then Invoicing and Settings. Your garage's name and plan are at the top.
The button at the top left of the page shrinks the menu to icons, or opens it out again. On a phone, the menu stays hidden until you choose that button.
The top bar
- On a job, customer, vehicle, service or part page, the trail on the left shows where you are, such as Jobs then the job number. Choose its first part to go back to the list.
- The ? button opens the help article for the page you're on, in a new tab.
- The bell shows your notifications.
- The sun or moon switches between light and dark mode. You can also press D.
- Your initial opens a menu with Log Out.
Lists
Jobs, customers, vehicles, invoices, services, parts and team members are all shown as lists.
- Type in the search box to find something.
- Choose a row to open it.
- Most rows have three dots at the end that open a menu of actions, such as Edit.
- The funnel icon next to a column name filters by that column. To remove the filter, choose the cross in the filter box, or delete what you typed.
- View chooses which columns are shown.
- On the customers, services, parts and team lists, tick the boxes on the left to select several rows at once.
Saving changes
On the job, customer, service and part pages, a bar at the bottom holds the save button and Discard. As soon as you change something, it shows Unsaved changes and the buttons can be used. In Settings, each tab has its own Save changes button.
